ItineraryDay 1 Kariba – Lake KaribaOur tour of Kariba includes a massive dam across the Zambezi River, and the beautiful little church of St Barbara. The dams assembly was set back several times by floods, said to be the work of an angered mythical creature – Nyaminyami. Throughout the town, youll find art depicting the half serpent, half fish spirit. At midday, we embark our intimate and exclusive cruise boat and sail across Lake Kariba to Fothergill Island, a safe haven for numerous animals and birds. Youll have opportunities to view game or explore the bays and inlets before sundowners aboard our boat. Day 2 Lake KaribaYou have opportunities to go fishing or track the inhabitants of Matusadona National Park, one of the last wild sanctuaries of the endangered black rhino and a great place for spotting lions and fish eagles. Later, we cruise to the remote fishing village of Kings Camp for further game activities by tender boat. Day 3 Lake KaribaRelax and enjoy the views as we cruise along Lake Kariba. We stop for an afternoon of game viewing, and take another drive in the evening, when hippos leave the water to graze. |
