In Copenhagen, youll be enchanted by the Old Harbour at Nyhavn, visit the castle that informed Shakespeares Hamlet; Kronberg Castle, and the whole family will enjoy Tivoli Gardens. Roskilde is home to the Viking Ship museum. Its collection of long ships is astonishing and the nearby burial place of the monarchs is also breathtaking.

Other top Danish attractions include the Forst Botanical Gardens on North Sealand and the Museum of Hans Christian Andersen in his birthplace town of Odense, which is where you can also visit the Renaissance castle of Gisselfeld. The food in Denmark is exquisite; fresh, healthy and full of flavour. Youll probably want to try its rather famous bacon too!
