The former capital of the Virginia Colony until 1789, Williamsburg was Englands oldest, largest, richest, most populous colony and played a significant role in the American Revolution. We then leave South Carolina behind for a journey through the Georgia countryside to Savannah. This famously beautiful city is a hub for creative types, but its the elegant 18th and 19th-century townhouses, brick sidewalks and towering oak trees draped in Spanish moss that are likely to capture your heart.
