Then travel even further back in time to around 3600 BC with a humbling visit to Hagar Qim (Worshipping Stones), a megalithic temple complex. ItineraryDay 1 UK – Valletta – St JuliansTitans VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Malta. On arrival we transfer to your hotel in St Julians. Day 2 VallettaWe introduce you to Valletta, the attractive 16th-century capital of the island and home to a grand harbour. We take in St Johns Cathedral, filled with magnificent gifts from the Knights of St John. Well also visit Fort St Elmo, the National War Museum and Upper Barrakka Gardens. - Tour of Valletta (afternoon)
Day 3 St JuliansToday is yours to spend as you please on this charming island. Alternatively, join an optional guided half-day harbour cruise. Day 4 St JuliansMaltas history dates back some 5,000 years, so there is much to be discovered on todays optional excursion, Times of Malta, which will take you to explore some of the historical museums and villages on the island. It will also take you to the highest point in Malta for great views. Alternatively, spend the day exploring independently. Day 5 Hagar Qim – Wied iz-ZurrieqThe megalithic temple complex of Hagar Qim dates back to between 3600-3200 BC and theyre the best preserved and most evocative of Maltas prehistoric sites – plus it boasts an unrivalled location atop a sea cliff. Today we will explore this UNESCO World Heritage-listed area. After the tour, well head to the tiny harbour of Wied iz-Zurrieq for time to explore. - Excursion to Hagar Qim and Wied iz-Zurrieq (morning)
Day 6 GozoWell make a visit to the legendary island of the Goddess Calypso and Maltas sister island – Gozo – on a guided tour. Only a short ferry crossing away, Gozo has a character entirely of its own – it is rich in varied landscapes, natural sights and historical features, with the citadel in the chief town of Victoria dating back to Carthaginian and Roman times. Well also visit the citadel in Victoria, the Bay of Xlendi, and the Ggantija Temples – the earliest Megalithic temples in Malta that date back earlier than the pyramids of Egypt. - Excursion to Gozo, including the Ggantija Temples (all day)
Day 7 Mosta – Rabat – MdinaKeep your camera at the ready to capture memories, as we explore some of the islands best-loved villages. We start with Mosta, famous for its Rotunda church; Rabat, where St Paul is said to have lived, and Mdina. This walled city has a unique atmosphere and, passing through the narrow streets, we admire the magnificent cathedral and the imposing bastions. - Sightseeing tour of Mosta, Rabat and Mdina (morning)
Day 8 St Julians – Valletta – UKWe transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home. |
