Day 1 & 2: UK to Kota Kinabalu

Day 3: Kota Kinabalu

  • Nostalgic journey on the North Borneo Railway to Papar.
  • Tiffin-style lunch on the vintage steam locomotive.
  • Optional sunset cruise for a unique perspective of Kota Kinabalu.

Day 4: North Borneo

  • Explore traditional village Bavanggazo, home to the Rungus tribe.
  • Visit Gombizou and Sumangkap for local crafts demonstrations.
  • Optional visit to the night market.

Day 5: Kinabalu National Park

  • Guided nature trek in Kinabalu National Park.
  • Poring Hot Springs visit and canopy walk for stunning views.

Day 6: Sandakan

  • Scenic road trip to Sandakan via Kundasang highlands.
  • Lunch in a restaurant and visit Sandakan Memorial Park.

Day 7: Abai

  • Orangutan observation at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.
  • Visit Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre.
  • Cruise up to Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary for wildlife spotting.

Day 8: Abai

  • Morning cruise to Pitas lake for wildlife observation.
  • Join a tree-planting project in Abai village with a simple lunch.
  • Afternoon boardwalk exploration and evening river cruise.

Day 9: Sukau

  • Free morning for explorations in the lodge surroundings.
  • Cruise to Sukau for wildlife spotting, inspired by Sir David Attenborough’s visit.
  • Lodge check-in and water exploration for exotic wildlife.

Day 10: Sandakan

  • Boat trip from Sukau back to Sandakan.
