Eurostar train to Paris. From there, you’ll continue to
Basel before travelling through the spectacular Bernese Oberland
region and on to Interlaken.

Lake Thun

Day 2

Lakes Cruises and 007

A great way to start the day is with a cruise across the
glacier-fed lakes, Thun and Brienz. Choose motor power or opt for a
restored paddle-wheel steamboat for an extra sense of adventure.
Alternatively, if mountains are what you are here for, why not
follow the trail of James Bond in On Her Majesty’s
Service
, on the Schilthorn Cable Car.

Jungfrau Railway

Day 3

The Top of Europe

A visit to the Bernese Oberland wouldn’t be complete without a
trip on Switzerland’s most popular mountain railway, the
Jungfrau Express. Tourists have been boarding its
distinctive red and yellow carriages for over a hundred years,
drinking in the breathtaking vistas as the train coils its way to
Jungfraujoch – the ‘Top of Europe’.

St Beatus Cave and Schynige Platte

According to local folklore, a fierce dragon once lived deep in
the interior of the immense Niederhorn Massif. Today the treasures
of St Beatus’ caves are there for all to explore and although
there’s no dragon, there are plenty of thrills including roaring
subterranean waterfalls, limestone gorges and stunning grottos.

Sherlock Holmes Museum, Meiringen

Day 5

A Day of Mystery

Today you could choose to travel to the quaint town of
Meiringen. It was here that Conan Doyle’s famous detective
‘Sherlock Holmes’ met a watery end at the hands of the ‘Napoleon of
Crime’, Moriarty. Once you’ve visited the fateful Reichenbach
Falls, you can continue to the fascinating Sherlock Holmes
Museum.

Eurostar, St Pancras

Day 6

Homeward bound

Depart Interlaken, changing at Basel for the high speed train to
Paris and then Eurostar on to London St Pancras.
