Itinerary

Eurostar

Day 1

London to Basel

Your journey begins in St Pancras Station, where you’ll board
the Eurostar train to Paris, continuing by TGV to
Basel.

St Moritz

Day 2

Basel to St Moritz

Leaving Basel, you head to St Moritz via Zurich. You’ll enjoy
spectacular views before your train continues its steady ascent of
the breathtaking Alps to the glamorous resort of St Moritz.

Day 3

Discover St Moritz

A perfect way to see this beautiful area is to take an optional
excursion on the Diavolezza Cable Car which ascends to over 3,000m
into the mountains.

Day 4

Scenic St Moritz

Whilst in the region, you could take an optional excursion on
the narrow-gauge Bernina Express, travelling from the
snowcapped peaks of Switzerland down to the swaying palms of Italy.
To complete a day of spectacular sights, spend an evening at
Muottas Muragl, where you can enjoy a splendid sunset and gourmet
dinner.

Day 5

Glacier Express

Today you depart St Moritz for Zermatt on the iconic Glacier
Express
. The train passes through alpine countryside to the
Oberalp Pass, the peak of the route. From there it spirals
downwards before crossing the spectacular gorge at Brig. Finally,
the train arrives in Zermatt, a picturesque resort in the shadows
of the mighty Matterhorn.

Day 6

Marvellous Mountains

To fully appreciate the scale of Zermatt’s towering peaks, take
a trip on the Gornergrat Mountain Railway; Europe’s
highest open-air cog railway – with stunning views from the
observatory at the summit.

Lausanne

Day 7

Zermatt to Lausanne

Situated on the shores of Lake Geneva, the hilly city of
Lausanne is well worth exploring. Visit the grand Gothic cathedral
next to the castle or stroll along the pretty waterfront area of
Ouchy.

TGV

Day 8

Homeward bound

Depart Lausanne for your return trip to London.
