Itinerary

Day 1: Khao Sok Transfer to Khao Sok in the Phang Nga province, passing tiny rural villages. On arrival at Elephant Hills Camp, you’ll find a delicious lunch waiting for you. You’ll then hop aboard a canoe and be paddled along the pretty Sok River by a local river guide. Drift along the water, passing limestone peaks and dense tropical vegetation. In this vastly unchanged rainforest, you can spot a number of reptiles and birds including hornbills.

Further down river, disembark your canoe and head to the elephant sanctuary. Here, you’ll learn all about Thai elephants and the sanctuary’s conservation efforts as you watch them bathe and spend some time interacting with these beautiful creatures. Later, head to your camp for some down time in your luxurious safari tent. Set in the panoramic jungle-covered hills, you’ll find a jungle bar serving cocktails and entertainment including traditional Thai dancers and a cooking demonstration. Day 2: Khao Sok Wake to the sounds of nature and enjoy breakfast at the camp. You’ll then travel to Cheow-Lan Lake to explore the waters by long-tail boat. This man-made lake is surrounded by limestone cliffs that rise up from the shore of the lake and into the far distance. With more than 100 islands in the lake, you’ll see some spectacular scenery here. It’s also home to wild elephants, tropical bird species, monkeys, amphibians and even leopards and tigers, making it one of the most unique and important rainforest habitats in South-east Asia.

After cruising this pretty lake, you’ll head to the Elephant Hills Rainforest Camp. Floating on this peaceful lake in the heart of the national park, enjoy a delicious Thai buffet lunch before settling in to your luxury tent and taking in the stunning lake views from the comfort of your deck chair. Later, you’ll head out with an experienced and knowledgeable guide to explore the mystery of the surrounding jungle on foot. Wonder at the ecology of one of the world’s oldest natural environments as you try to spot hornbills, gibbons, macaques and much more, and learn to identify some of the plant life.

As your day draws to a close, you’ll have the opportunity to watch the sun set behind the limestone peaks surround Cheow-Lan Lake from the comfort of your deck. The water here is cool and refreshing, offering the perfect spot to enjoy a pre-dinner dip. With the setting of the sun, the night sky comes alive with thousands of stars. Day 3: Khao Sok Wake to the sounds of the jungle and make the most of your final morning in this idyllic place. Hop aboard a canoe for a pre-breakfast exploration of this prehistoric landscape. For those that enjoy a more invigorating start to the day, dive into the still, calm waters.

After breakfast, your guide will take you out on a guided canoe safari into the small meandering inlets of Cheow-Lan Lake. Once again, you’ll spot a range of intriguing local wildlife as you are immersed in this tranquil, pristine place. Enjoy a final lunch at your floating camp and take in your beautiful surrounds for a final time before heading to the pier to travel on to Phuket, Khao Lak or Krabi and continute your experience of this beautiful country.
