Itinerary
Day 1
To Brussels on the Eurostar
You’ll depart London St Pancras by Eurostar to Brussels. On arrival, why not begin your tour of the city by taking in some of the city’s must-see attractions, including the awe-inspiring Grand Place – a treasure trove of architectural splendour.
Day 2
Brussels to Ypres
Although flattened by bombardment during World War I, the centre of Ypres has since been restored, allowing you to admire its beautiful Medieval architecture. Of course, for many, a visit to Ypres means paying tribute to those who died during the Great War and there are many museums and memorials throughout Ypres that remember the fallen.
Day 3
Ypres
An excursion (included with this tour) today takes you to Flanders Fields, visiting important sites including Hill 60, the Bayernwald trench complex, Bedford House and the Commonwealth cemetery. End today at the Menin Gate for the moving ‘Last Post’ ceremony which commemorates fallen Commonwealth soldiers.
Day 4
Ypres to Lille
Packed with interesting architecture and history, Lille is a delightful place to explore. Perhaps take a stroll through the old quarter with its cobblestone streets and exclusive shops or visit Lille’s attractive Cathedral.
