Tignes, France – The village of Tignes is a part of the Espace Killy ski area and has agreat selection of hotels to choose from – mostly chalet style made from wood and stonethat set the scene perfectly. Many hotels come with views of the beautiful Lac de Tignesand the Grand Motte glacier – which has some great runs. Tignes itself provides a fantasticvariety of different terrains for skiers and snow-boarders – perfect for all levels – whether abeginner wanting a nice spot to practise (complete with nurse runs) or a more advancedskier looking for a little off-piste fun. Off the slopes there is plenty going on with plenty ofbars and restaurants to choose from – including some wonderful themed restaurantsselling traditional mountain foods such as fondues.
St. Anton, Austria – St Anton is one of the Alps top rated resorts. It is right in the heart ofAustrias Arlberg region and there are 340km of pistes and 180km of off-piste itineraries. St Anton is generally better known as a resort for experienced skiers and snowboarders,
however beginners are more than well catered for with nursery slopes and a collection of30+ easier runs to conquer. Many of the resorts in St. Anton are busy and popular the yearround but if youre looking for a quieter option we suggest you take a look at Chalet Hotel
Schweizerhof, which is on the edge of St. Anton in Nasserein – its excellent for familieswith younger children as there are creches and play areas too.
Mribel, France – Mribel is an ideal base for skiers who go in search of endless variety. Its a great choice for intermediate skiers who love the 600kms of well-kept pistes. If you enjoy a little bit go scenery then try out the forestruns or head to Val Thorens, Europes highest resort, for beautiful vistas out over themountains.
Courchevel, France – Courchevel, located in the commune of Saint-Bon-Tarentaise in theFrench Alps, is a part of the largest linked ski area in the world. Courchevel is actuallymade up of four villages, each linked by lifts, pistes and a road which winds its way upfrom Courchevel Le Praz through to Courchevel Moriond and onwards to the highest

Courchevel is known asone of Frances most stylish places to ski. Once there, youll have access to over 600km ofperfect pistes – with all kinds of slopes available – great for the upmost beginner to themost seasoned of professional. One of our favourite places to ski here is at the infamouscouloirs at the top of the Saulire cable car – though we dont recommend it to absolutebeginners. In short the skiing here is fantastic – with plenty of family skiing options for halfterm, but there are plenty of others activities on offer too – whether you want to indulge in a little Ice skating, bowling, or snowshoeing.
