Food and drink at Club Med Magna Marbella
The rich culture of Andalusia is reflected in the cuisine of the region. Rice dishes are indicative of its Moorish heritage, while plentiful, delicious fresh seafood is a staple of the southern Spanish diet.
What makes Andalusia stand out on the culinary map of Spain, however, is the variety of tapas youll be served with your drink in local bars. From tender pieces of pulpo (octopus) to thick slices of lomo (pork), Manchego cheese, and Serrano ham, theres a good chance youll be given a piece of bread topped with a delicious morsel when you buy your early evening beer or wine.
Other popular appetisers, that are often free of charge with your drink purchases are tortilla; a Spanish omelette stuffed with potatoes, fried peppers, heartily stuffed croquetas and heavily oiled spinach with chickpeas.
Meals will be included as part of your all inclusive package here at Club Med Magna Marbella and theyll be served in the resorts Main Restaurant. Youll enjoy the subtle flavours of saffron-infused paella and mouthwatering cuts of meat served a la plancha, as well as a menu of globally-inspired recipes such as carefully prepared hamburgers, pasta, pizza and asian cuisine.
Drinks can be enjoyed in the resorts Main Bar, which looks out over the pool. Whether youre looking to enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif, a romantic sundowner cocktail, or a glass of fine wine, youll be able to do it here against an aesthetically pleasing backdrop in a comfortable, stylish seating area with a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Your leisure itinerary
Club Med resorts are known for their super itineraries to keep you entertained during your stay and Club Med Magna Marbella is no exception. Youre just a short walk away from the drive and all the water sports you can think of taking place off the coastline. But on the resort itself is where you can find maximum excitement.
Tennis and fitness classes in yoga and pilates will help keep you fit, or if you prefer to work out individually, you could always hit the gym. However, one of the big attractions of the leisure suite here is the circus skills school. Enjoy toning your body and improving your balance as you learn to master the flying trapeze. This has to be one of the most exhilarating ways to exercise.
Theres also an archery school on site, so if you fancy developing your target practise, with the tuition included in your package you should be able to substantially develop your skills.
Of course, a main reason why people opt for holidays in Spain is because they want to relax in the sunshine and make the most of having a swimming pool on hand for regular refreshing dips. Club Med Magna Marbella, with its 5 glorious pools, does not disappoint!
You can lounge around poolside, beside the family pool, the adults only zen pool, or next to one of the spa pools. Theres a bar nearby to keep you in drinks and snacks. Additionally, the possibility to do some serious swimming also exists.
Childrens clubs and family facilities
The entertainment provided for children in Club Med resorts is legendary and Club Med Magna Marbella is no exception. Registered child minders will be on hand to take care of your babies and toddlers from the age of 4 months old, amusing them with toys in the play areas, while you enjoy a bit of quiet time.
Slightly older children, from the age of 4, will have the opportunity to join in organised games, contests and sports classes with the new friends that theyll make. They might do a nature trail one day and embark on an art project the next. The itinerary for the week will be varied and exciting.
Teenagers will also be indulged here and provided with age appropriate activities to entertain them. They might attend discos in the evening, watch films, put on shows and even have the opportunity to eat with new acquaintances they make. During the day, theyll have their own sports coaches to help develop new skills in the leisure activities provided at the resort.
During a holiday here, youll find it easy to combine some family fun with plenty of quiet time, while your little ones can enjoy an exciting schedule of fun whenever they fancy. See more on the Club Med Marbella childcare here
All about Andalucia
Andalucia is a large region in the South of Spain, which has been immortalised time and time again in the literature of the Moors, the plays of Spains most famous playwright; Federico Garcia Lorca and from the ubiquitous flamenco music, which is in itself a symbol of rebellion and passion.
The most popular cities to visit nearby are Seville, Crdoba and Granada. You can easily get yourself from Malaga to Granada on a scenic coach that will take you through olive groves beside the banks of the picturesque Guadalquivir River. When you arrive in this unique city, the first thing thatll strike you is that as you walk around the warm, sub-tropical, sunshine-filled Jardines del Triunfo, or Lorcas own sweet-smelling flower garden, youll have a great view of the snow-capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada mountain range towering overhead.
The biggest attraction of the city is also a famous tourist highlight in Spain. It receives thousands of visitors every year and it is the Alhambra Palace. A jewel of white walls and water features, from the top of the hill on which it sits, you can look out over the painted caves of Granadas gypsy quarters; Barrio Sacramento, which lies nestled among the cacti and aloe vera plants.
If you look directly down from the palace youll be looking onto Plaza Nueva, with its pavement cafs set around a beautiful old fountain. This is a great place to sample the local tapas and aromatic teas of the various Arabic tea shops.
Seville boasts a Moorish palace of its own; the Alczar, which can be reached by walking along the ornate streets; lined with orange trees. Cordobas Mezquita is another eye-opener. This religious monument which combines the architecture of a Mosque and a Cathedral is symbolic of the two dominating religions of the country existing peacefully side by side.
Theres plenty to explore in closer proximity to the resort too. Malaga is a vibrant city with a large shopping area and a friendly beach. Youll find plenty of English-speaking bars and restaurants.
